We currently have room to board your alpacas, please contact us for rates!
Boarded alpacas do not know that they are boarded here at Alpaca Vista Ranch meaning that they are kept with our herd not in a boarding pen. There is no ours and theirs here! We prefer to have one happy herd not several small herds in different pens. The alpacas have all the broam/orchard hay they can eat. Free choice minerals are available. For the animals that need additional nutritional support we have Ranch Way Feed alpaca supplements that are developed by a Colorado State University Veterinary Nutritionist. Each of these alpacas has their own grain bowl and is fed separately to assure that they are getting the nutrition that is needed. The pens are cleaned daily and every pen has automatic waters that provide clean fresh water in any kind of weather.
Security for your alpaca
We have a crack team (2 Newfoundland’s and a Great Pyrenees) of guard dogs to protect your alpaca. Maggie, Lucy and Stella are on duty outside of the alpaca pens. We have chosen this unique combination of guard dogs because they are predator unfriendly but human friendly. Along with the dogs we have a 60” perimeter field fence around the 7 acres. Our interior pens have 48” field fence. During the day the females and cria have access to a 1+ acre pen to play, eat and lounge. At night the animals are secured in a smaller pen inside of the 1+ acre pen. All of the alpacas have access to the barn at any time day or night.
