General as we call him, is a son of CPeruvian Axtion Jaxon and on his dam’s side a grandson of Show Me the Money. When making the breeding decision for one of our best Show Me the Money daughters we wanted a stud that could take great fleece and increase the density and fleece characteristics. General was born on Veterans Day and we wanted to honor that with an appropriate name so General Patton seemed to work – Gregg really likes General Patton.
We knew that we had a herdsire the day he was born, beautiful confirmation and a true black fleece that looked like curly q’s! As soon as he was up walking he had a presence that demanded that we pay attention, again homage to a General. He missed GWAS because of his age but we excited to get him in the ring to confirm what we thought so his first show was Fall Fest and the judge confirmed what we thought – First Place in a very large true Black juvie class. The next show National Western Stock Show – First Place and then on to Reserve Color Championship! Then on to GWAS 2010 a Second Place True Black Yearling Male. Not bad for the largest show in the county! The comments of the judges have been consistant – very typie male with a proud presence, a very soft handling fleece with uniform crimp that continues up his neck and down his legs. These are the results from only full fleece halter shows.
Wanting to confirm what we thought of his fleece we entered General’s fleece in several shows here are the results:
Fall Festival 2010 First Place
GWAS 2011 Second Place
CABA Classic First Place and Reserve Color Championship
General started breeding last fall and his first cria is due in October.
Breeding fee $750 for limited time.
